Commissioner MIA
Sorry fellas, since I’ve gotten back I’ve been swamped and sick. I will try to get things set up ASAP. I’m as stoked as a mother, but overwhelmed with various things. But don’t worry, you’ll get your chance to lose to me soon enough….
Ted, I got your voice mails but I was actually asleep during both of them. Believe it or not, I was asleep at 3pm today. And also at 11pm. So, now it’s 1:00am and I’m as awake as a fresh beaver.

One thing that everyone will need to do is trim their rosters to 25. As soon as I complete the draft I will send out the db where you can trim. Basically, you can look at your rosters and then send me the names of those that you are dropping.
From there we will need to trim our computer teams, profile them, and send those in. We’ll do that in two steps. Trim your rosters, send them to me, then I’ll update the db and resend it. Then you will profile your given teams and send that back to me. THEN, I’ll send out the final db and we should be on our way. So here is how I see it:
Wed: Trim Rosters
Thur: Profile computer teams.
Fri-Sat: Opening Day.
Gloriousness Ensues.

I sent out the rosters db with the following message:
So here is the db that really only has roster information. Everyone trim their rosters to 25, and also their computer teams.
In other words, trim and profile these teams then do an export statistics back to me.
Ted: St. Louis, Florida and Houston
Jerry: Tampa Bay, Texas and Kansas City
Bart: Oakland, Cincinnati and San Francisco
Brian: Minnesota, Baltimore and Washington
Of course, you don’t need to profile your own team.

And ALSO, very important. Before you import the db make sure you create a new empty db first from the File menu. Once you do that, then you can choose “install league database”. You don’t want to install this db on to of another existing db.

Also, to trim the rosters go to View, Roster/Manager profile. Your farm players are in green. To move players up or down from your farm team, right click and select either “Farm” or “promote”

So, we first create an empty db then import trim/profile db into that empty one? Then, after trimming and profiling, we export statistics back to you? That sounds easy enough. As always, Bri, thanks for doing all the hard work. I hope you’re ready for a season-opening series against the Rays. Get ready to score some serious runs once my pen gets the call. I’m thinking my pen is really going to make me angry this year.

You got it. Can’t wait to sting the Rays. Get it? Sting The Rays! hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Okay. I am rusty. How do I need to get the changes back to you Bri? Also. I don’t think that I can figure out how to host this SOB. Any ideas? Well. I haved weeded out some of the wheat with the tares but the teams are honed down. No rest? How many pitchers in relief should one have on their roster?
July 10th, 2008 at 7:40 am
You probably ought to have a full 5 starters and at least 5 relievers.

Seeing as how we have a farm system now, are we allowed to move guys back and forth from the farm during the season? I’m thinking in particular of the potential havoc that would be wrought if one of your starters got injured with so many games right in a row - that would be pretty crippling. Should we allow a guy to be called up in a “DL” situation like that? Maybe a limit of 1 or 2 moves during the year to cover potential injury situations?
July 10th, 2008 at 10:59 am
yeah, i’m nervous about that too. Mr. commish, how do we handle that?
July 10th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
I’m ok with whatever but this is what I propose:
Any injuries where a player is going to be out at least 7 days, you can bring up a farm player to replace them. Once the player is healthy and off the DL, that replacement player then goes back down to the minors.
July 10th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
That sounds pretty darn good.

Good, good. How about Exporting the teams to Bri. How do I do that?
